Bows

The Girl has a lot of bows - especially after Christmas. Here is how I used to store them.

The basket wasn't working out for me. It was ugly. It was inconvenient. I needed a bow holder. I needed a custom one that could hold big bows and some very tiny little clips.

I hadn't seen one that could do both, so I decided to make my own. I found an idea I liked here, went shopping, and got busy with a staple gun.

I used wider ribbon for the bigger bows and the narrow ribbon for the clips.

I think it turned out really cute.

Ahhhh....organization.

It's a Girl Thing

The Girl has enjoyed her spoils of Christmas. The clothes....
...ohhhhh the clothes.
And more clothes and bows and this cute little baby backpack that she loves.

She loves to sing "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae. She also thinks it's hilarious to give me kisses then wipe them off and say "ewwww". These are things I'd like to capture on video, but once the camera comes out she becomes more interested in that than in performing.

We did manage to get duck, duck, goose, though.

She yells "niiiiiiiiiiight" at bedtime, and "hello?" when the phone rings. She also says "I love you" but it comes out as "luh low". It's exactly the same way she says "yellow", but I don't mind - it's still just as sweet.

The Incredibles

We got the Boy The Incredibles movie for Christmas. He really loves it. This is what I'm hearing from his room right now where he is supposed to be having "quiet" time.

"Honey, where is my super suit?! You tell me where my suit is woman!! We are talking about the greater good!"

"Greater good?? I am your wife. I am the greatest gooooood you are ever gonna get!"

Hehe...

A Long December Post

Christmas starts early in the month with a little concert at the Boy's preschool.

He made a gingerbread person at the class party. He said it was his little sister - I guess she does often look like this.

We had dinner and gifts with Papa.

And took a little trip down to Arkansas to visit my family.

And open gifts.

And open more gifts. This is a good time to mention that The Man got me the Frye boots I've been wanting for years!
And show off our newest fashions.

It was busy! Hope you had a Merry Christmas, tutu!

You Can Milk Anything

I have been looking for this picture for a while. I figured it was lost forever until The Man happened upon it last night.

This was taken right after I had the Girl. He played with this apparatus so much it left semi-permanent circles on his chest.

The Sing Off

I love The Sing Off. This season there is a group from BYU on it. I had to post this performance from last night in case any of you don't watch. It took me back to Junior High.

Unfortunately their next song wasn't so good...so they got booted off.

On Halloween, We Know What to Do...

...we have lots of fun with Thing 1 and Thing 2!We decorated popcorn balls that Aunt JoJo sent us.
We briefly attended the trunk-or-treat at church where they served pizza, had bonfires, and put the Cardinals game up on a big screen outside so no one would miss it.
And Thing 1 had a parade and party at his school.

We had fun!

That's How I Swing, Yo

Despite the fact that she is holding on for dear life, she really does enjoy swinging.

Pregnancy Scare

I had a dream last night that I managed to make it to 38 weeks of pregnancy before I realized I was even pregnant. I love my kids, but I was super glad to wake up.

Moving On

I've lived in plenty of places now I think.

South? Arkansas. Check.
West? Utah. Check.
Northeast? New York. Check.
Midwest? Missouri. Check.

I've covered three time zones. It's time to add a fourth. The Man was offered a contract in California. Assuming it's acceptable, we're off to the central coast next summer.

Really, really excited.

Field Trip

The Boy went on his first field trip with his new preschool. We took a walking tour of our little downtown. Within walking distance of his school is the library, the farmer's market, a bakery, the fire department, a candy shop, and finally a little park.

They got a litte something in their bag at each place.

It was a perfect morning for it. The girl and I had a nice time, too.

Motor Skills

I can use a fork.
I can stab the food.
I can put it in my pie hole.
Life is good.

California

After the go-go trip in NYC last week (more on that later), we are here in Pismo Beach while Grandpa Jim watches the kids.

I slept here last night.

I had orange juice in a champagne flute while in a bath robe this morning. This was my view of the ocean from the room's deck. I'll be reading a good part of the morning here. Life is good, but I miss my kids.

First Day!

Today was the Boy's first day at a traditional preschool. We've both been needing this day to come for a while. He was all dressed in his new duds.

Picture project in hand (and a nice little wink there).

Big smile before going into his classroom.

And a super preschooler cape after. Yay!

I'm So Lame

I have definitely become the uncool mom. Today during breakfast the Boy asked me to watch how big of a bite he could take. So I did and feigned awe. Then I abruptly broke out into a song of, "I like big BITES and I cannot lieeeeeeee you other brothers can't denyyyyyyyyy...."

My poor children. I see a lot of embarrassment in their future.
